Join ASCE Minnesota, ASCE YMG and the MN Chapter of SEI for the September Section Meeting and a construction tour of the 35W Bridge.

MnDOT, in partnership with Dakota County, Hennepin County, the City of Bloomington, and the City of Burnsville, is leading a project to replace bridges and pavement on I-35W between Cliff Road and 106th Street. As part of the project the profile of I-35W is being raised out of the floodplain and pedestrian access is being improved across the river. This project also includes multiple retaining walls and reinforced soil slopes, as well as geotechnical instrumentation monitoring to allow for widening the embankments north and south of the river, all while keeping three lanes of traffic open in each direction. Come check out this summer’s progress and get an up-close look at one of Minnesota’s most exciting highway improvement projects.

Tour space is limited and will be reserved on a first come first serve basis. The first 40 members to respond will be allowed on the tour. Please only respond if you are certain you can attend. If your plans change after you’ve RSVP’d, please contact ASCE ASAP.

Parking is available at the project office.
