Past activities have been articles for the newsletter, preparation of ASCE Historic Landmark designation applications, and calendars highlighting Minnesota Historic Bridges (2008) and Mississippi River Headwaters Dams (2009).

Geotechnical Committee

Geo-Institute (GI)

Contact Jimmy Bennett for more details

The Minnesota Geotechnical Society holds monthly meetings from October through May (i.e. 8 meetings per year), and we sponsor an annual geotechnical engineering conference held through the University of Minnesota. Our monthly meetings typically consist of a social hour, followed by dinner, then a 45 – 60 minute technical talk or case history presentation. PDH forms are provided at the end. The February monthly meeting is a joint meeting with the MN Section of ASCE and is held the night before the February geotechnical conference. Proceeds from our monthly meetings and the conference go towards scholarships for civil engineering students with an interest in geomechanics or geotechnical engineering.
